Vaccines have become an almost inescapable topic across the media due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, four years out from the start of the pandemic, we wanted to better understand vaccination rates and explore those that are most sought out by the general public.

Overall, the data shows that buy-in to vaccinations is high, and that pharmacies may play a key role in providing access. Over 60% of Americans and of 57% of Canadians have been vaccinated in the last year. Across both countries, flu and covid-19 vaccines are most common, suggesting continued buy-in to preventative measures. This data also demonstrates the important role of pharmacy in access to both of these vaccines, with over half highlighting that it was their primary access point.
While we see less buy-in for shingles, RSV and pneumonia among older adults, data shows that more Americans have received these in the last year, suggesting continued opportunity to increase awareness of the importance and availability of these vaccines.
